Parks & Nature
If you enjoy nature and the outdoors, pick from any of these adventures or locations for something to do. Choose according to the weather and tides. e.g. Climbing Karioi is best done when views can be enjoyed. Wainui Bush Park is ok to do if its raining and you have a good jacket.
Start the hike from the Ruapuke side. (Follow signs from Te Mata Road).
Only attempt if you have a reasonable level of fitness and some cross trainers.
Do it on a sunny day to see views of Aotea and Kawhia Harbours.
Hike is 3 hours return, with beautiful bird sightings throughout the native bush, especially near the summit.

Go through the garden to Piace Pizza Wednesday through Sunday. The BEST pizza in town! Served up out of a pizza truck. Wood fired authentic and delicious.
