Serene lake front cottage 1 hour from NYC

Serene minimalist cottage directly on Lake Oscaleta with spectacular waterfront and Mountain Lakes Park behind. Quiet, isolated and lost in the trees, you feel you are in Vermont or the Adirondacks. Yet it's only 1 hour from Manhattan, 10 minutes from restaurants. Kayak, canoe, fish, paddleboard. Cottage is elegant, cozy and winterized warm and the lake is effectively empty in the fall/winter/spring. Please note: because of an asthmatic child, we cannot accept any animals.

The original cottage was built in 1932, but was completely renovated in the last 5 years. 650 square feet with a bedroom, bathroom, lounge on the 2nd floor loft, and an open floor plan with living area, dining area and kitchen on the first floor. French doors lead from the dining area to a large screened in porch.

Cottage overlooking the CT river

Adorable 1800 cottage with views of the CT River. Upstairs bedroom with a king. Bathroom downstairs with a small tub / shower and a tiny kitchen. Other room is a living room with a desk/ table but has a queen pull out bed ( needs to be requested ahead of time. Watch the Essex steam train, Becky Thatcher riverboat, or hang out at the river, bring your kayaks or paddleboards as there is a boat ramp right across the street.
