Join us for a 3hr historical stumble down the "street of shame". Starting in the shadow of the iconic St.Paul's cathedral, we explore the tiny backstreets and rambling courtyards the ancient City of London is famous for. We follow in the drunken footsteps of literary greats including Dickens, Shakespeare, Pepys & Johnson whilst pausing for a drink in at least 4 of the most historic pubs dating as far back as the 1500's. From discovering art nouveau gems to glamorous Victorian gin palaces we enjoy a variety of pub styles and breweries along the way. It's not a prescriptive tour, so you choose & pay for your drinks along the way. We're here to offer recommendations, and you can often "sip before you sup" with a few tasters on request from the bars along the way. This allows you to indulge as much or as little as you desire! Non-drinkers can soak up the history, and wine & gin-lovers are also well catered for. We usually finish up on the edge of Covent Garden perfect for theatre-land, restaurants and of course more pubs! Other note: - Guests are recommended to be over 18 years of age to enjoy the walk at its best. Anyone lucky enough to look under 25 years of age should bring photo ID - Group sizes of up to 14 participants - Alfie the dog is not always in attendance. Sorry! N.B. With a hot drink in hand from my favorite coffee shop, spend the morning with me, an experienced florist, learning the rich history of the Columbia Road Flower Market in East London. Stroll through the bustling stalls, selecting your own fresh blooms before heading back to my workshop for a hands-on bouquet-making session. • You’ll skip the crowds and enjoy VIP access at one of the busiest stalls at the market, and get insider knowledge on seasonal blooms and one-on-one advice along the way. • After picking up flowers, we’ll take a scenic walk down Brick Lane, soaking in its street art and vibrant atmosphere. Every year, the streets of Notting Hill come alive with the sounds, sights, and energy of the Notting Hill Carnival, Europe’s largest street festival. In this dance workshop, you’ll learn iconic Caribbean dance moves and wear vibrant costumes that bring the spirit of Carnival alive. • We’ll begin with introductions, warm-up exercises, and stories about the rich history of this cultural celebration. • Next, I’ll teach you some traditional dance moves. As our live DJ spins Caribbean songs from the past and present, you’ll whine, squat, twerk, and twirl. • You’ll have a chance to try on authentic Carnival costumes, wings, and headdresses. Once we’re all dressed up, we’ll practice your newfound moves with a mini Carnival dance party! There will be plenty of time for photos in your Carnival costumes. After the walking tour, we will stop for an hour & taste the best British foods in one of London's oldest food markets: Borough market. It's a bustling hub of smells and flavours. Foods you will try include: Fish & Chips (mushy peas/gravy), have a beer & pub snacks and a world-famous dessert... At the start, we will head through Green Park to Buckingham Palace, where we'll watch the world-famous Changing of the Guard ceremony (if it is on). We then head to Westminster. Sights we'll see along the way include Parliament Square, St James Palace, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben & the Houses of Parliament. We then go to the London Bridge area, where we'll see Shakespeare’s Globe, the Shard, HMS Belfast, Tower Bridge & the Tower of London. Plus many other sights! You'll be hungry and thirsty (hopefully) at this point: we then go for a feast of the best of British foods. Other things to note: The food tasting is at the end of the 5-hour walking tour.
